Graduate Architect

Opportunity for a Graduate Architect with 1-2 years hands-on experience working for a design studio throughout all phases of a project. You will have a good understanding of the design process, best practice, developing design concepts, co-ordinating consultants, strong documentation and construction administration.

We are looking for someone with a passion for design and detail, and an intention of growing with a team that works without division on a range of exciting projects locally and internationally. You will be willing to learn, possess a high level of technical skill and competence in Design and Documentation.

You are someone with a passion for architecture and interiors spanning diverse projects in Residential, Multi-Residential, Hospitality, Retail and Workplace environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering projects from concept through to construction documentation
  • Assist and contribute to the delivery of projects on time, to budget and specification
  • Sourcing and specifying materials, finishes, furnishings and fittings
  • Documentation including specifications and schedules on various phases of architectural and interior projects including but not limited to concept design, schematics, design development, preparation of presentation drawings and specifications
  • Co-ordinate and communicate all aspects of project design to the project team
  • Assist Project Leads with development and presentations to ensure the design intent is maintained through to documentation
  • Liaise and work directly with the team, coordinate consultants, RFI’s and other professionals independently and in collaboration

Required Experience

  • 1-2 years max in a similar role within an architectural or interior studio
  • Relevant recognised degree education within architecture and/or interior architecture
  • Experience producing technical drawing and construction documentation packages for buildings and interiors
  • Proven experience on hospitality and residential projects
  • Sound knowledge of BCA regulations and Australian standards applicable to residential development
  • Good understanding of space planning and spatial analysis
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of materials and products
  • Experience at similar interior architectural firms

Required Attributes

  • Revit and AutoCAD proficiency are essential
  • 3D modelling in Rhino is desirable
  • Highly organised person with great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign
  • Microsoft Office proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Great work ethic and a desire to deliver beyond expectation
